Sydney Harris Wins 200-400 Double At Southeast Showdown

Daiyanna Cooper Launches US#3 Weight Throw At CrossPlex

Sydney Harris of Jackrabbit Track and Field Clinic GA lowered her best times and won the 200 and 400 double Monday at the Southeast Showdown at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. 

Harris ran 55.82 seconds to win the 400 meters and 24.62 to take the the 200.

Marius Steward from Whitehaven TC TN won the boys 200 meters in 22.03 seconds. 

Perhaps no one got more out of the Southeast Showdown opportunity than Daiyanna Cooper (unattached/Temple GA), who threw US#3 55-2 to win the weight throw. She launched a five-foot personal best. 

Will Sumner from Woodstock Track GA won the 400 meters in US#7 48.41. Methias Carter from Jackrabbit TFC was second in US#10 48.70. 

Milan Fields from Elite Track and Field Training NC won the girls 60 dash in 7.67 seconds and placed third in the 200. 

Andrew Spearman from Jackrabbit TFC won the boys 60 dash in 7.06 seconds. 

A pair of Tennessee athletes doubled back in the afternoon after winning state titles. Skyy Craig of Walker Valley TC ran a personal-best 8.25 to win the 60-meter hurdles. Mensi Stiff from Brentwood Academy TC won the girls shot put with 41-10. 

Wyatt Stewart from Kaizen Pole Vault KY cleared 15-7 to win the pole vault. 

Kieley Gayle (unattached/Westlake GA) won the girls 800 in 2:16.63. Stone Burke from St. Louis Warriors MO won the boys race in 1:58.60.
